Concert: Hildegard of Bingen – invocation with song and glass harp

Sancta Birgitta Monastery Museum presents this month's cultural evening! Vida Vojić invokes the spirit of Saint Hildegard by singing her medieval songs accompanied by glass harp, subtle electronics, spatial feedback, and lighting design.

Hildegard of Bingen was a prophetic Benedictine abbess and mystic in 12th-century Roman Germany, active as a composer, preacher, writer, theologian, artist, playwright, herbalist, and naturalist. In 2012, 900 years after her death, she was canonized by the Pope, and she is now known as the patron saint of artists.

Vida Vojić is a London- and Gothenburg-based music and performance artist, alchemical drummer and writer, who works at the intersection of sound, storytelling and scenography. Through vibrant music and performing arts, Vida connects the immediate with the infinite, exploring themes such as magic, theological structures, bodily memory, alternative perceptions of time and the nature of change.
