Culture evening: The North Sea Empire – lecture with historian Bo Eriksson
Welcome to this month's cultural evening! Historian Bo Eriksson lectures on the Viking king Canute the Great's powerful North Sea empire in the 11th century. The lecture is given in connection with the traveling exhibition Viking Gold – Treasure Politics since 1800.

Bo Eriksson is an associate professor of history at Stockholm University. He has written a number of books, including "The North Sea Empire – the Empire of the Vikings" together with Kristina Ekero Eriksson. Bo is also known to many as the narrator in SVT's historical program, and appeared in the major initiative "The Story of Sweden".
The lecture is given in connection with the international traveling exhibition "Viking Gold - Treasure Politics since 1800", which is shown at Sancta Birgitta Monastery Museum 4 July – 30 August 2026.
Admission 110 kr. The lecture takes place in the Dormitorium – stairs only, no elevator.
