A Place Tells – Art and Literature in the Year of Literature 2026

The exhibition is largely based on works from Vadstena municipality's art collection. Through different themes, art meets works where poetry, photography and visual art interact. Two of the departments are based on projects that Vadstena municipality has run during the Year of Literature 2026. In another part, a preview of the Literature Map is given, a project that wants to highlight how buildings and places in the city of Vadstena have been depicted in fiction. Together, the exhibition shows how images and words can tell, interpret and inspire each other, in many different ways. As a visitor, you can be inspired by the art and leave your own words. Welcome to look, read, interpret and maybe write yourself!
