Summer program at naturum Tåkern 2026
During the summer, Naturum Tåkern is open Wednesday to Sunday 13 June-16 August (except Midsummer's Eve) from 10:00 to 17:00. Every opening day we offer the following activities:
Today's species
Every day, the guides bring in a new species at the visitor centre. The species will be on the reception desk all day. Take the opportunity to ask your questions about the species to the naturum hosts at the reception!
Guided tour inside the visitor centre
Get a quick introduction to nature at Tåkern by joining a guided tour inside the visitor centre's exhibition. The guide will tell you about animals, plants, the history of Tåkern and man's influence on the lake while you get to discover different parts of the exhibition. The tour is suitable for both children and adults!

Netting small insects in water
This is our most popular activity – perhaps because it is popular with everyone between the ages of 1 and 101! You can borrow a net and then we go together to the naturum's netting jetty. The guide will help you find out what it is you have got up for bugs. It can be anything from house builders to dowels (which is an old Swedish word for devil).
