Viewing: Women's Perspective
The Monastery Museum's guided tour about famous women and their importance and living conditions in the long history of the monastery area, such as queens, saints, nuns, beguines and war-makers' wives
Men have written history mainly about men. In this tour, you will instead hear about a number of women who in various ways have been connected to the monastery area and the monastery for a thousand years, such as queens, saints, nuns and war-makers' wives. How have they lived and what has been important to them? We can also ask ourselves the question: Was Saint Birgitta a feminist?
Pre-registration for info@klostermuseum.se or pre-purchase via Salver.se. You can also buy a ticket at our reception, subject to availability. Are you entitled to discounted admission with e.g. Cultural Heritage Card or want to go on several tours on the same day? Pre-register and then pay on site!
The tour lasts about 50 minutes.
